On July 20, 2013, the Food Safety and Food Security forum, hosted by the Organizing Committee of the ECO Forum Global Guiyang and the CCTV-2 Dialogue program, was held. Wang Degen, Chairman of Dekon Group, Wang Jinghai, Chairman of Wandashan Dairy Group in Heilongjiang Province, Zhang Lingyu, Founder of San’an Technology Group, Chen Zhangliang, Vice Chairman and Secretary of the Secretariat of China Association for Science and Technology, and Han Jun, Deputy Director of the Development Research Center of the State Council, served as the chairman of the forum. Nine related enterprises and experts, including He Changchui, former Deputy Director General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and academician of the International Eurasian Academy of Science (IEAS), held a dialogue on food safety and food governance around the food safety incidents in recent years. The conversation was then broadcast on CCTV Dialogue program on the evening of July 28, which triggered heated discussions.
Chairman Wang Degen, on behalf of Dekon Group, delivered a speech at the forum as an “outstanding practitioner in building a safe food industry chain”. He stated in his speech that food safety issues should be addressed from the source. Land is the foundation of all things, and we must respect and revere it. Good land produces good food products, good food products produce good livestock and poultry, and good livestock and poultry produce safe food, forming a safe chain of land-grain-breeding- processing.
As the fastest enterprise in the industry that opens up the industrial chain, Dekon Group is currently planning a new agricultural security information project based on “big data”- “Agricultural Security Cloud”. The entire system covers agricultural production, processing, warehousing, circulation and other links, truly realizes various functions such as traceability management, real-time monitoring and anti-counterfeiting management, breaks the traditional segmentation and isolated data island between government departments, enterprises, farmers and information providers, and extends supervision to every link of production and consumption. The project will effectively promote the synchronous development of agricultural industrialization, agricultural urbanization and agricultural modernization.
It is reported that ECO Forum Global Guiyang was approved by the state in January 2013 as the only high-end international forum in China that is strongly supported by the Chinese government after the Boao Forum for Asia and focuses on promoting ecological civilization construction and sustainable development.
